Abstract:Sports dance, as an activity form that integrates artistry and physicality, has gradually drawn attention in the educational field in recent years. This study focuses on the application of sports dance in primary and secondary school physical education curricula, exploring its multidimensional value for student development. The research background stems from the relatively单一 content of current school physical education courses, which fails to meet the diversified developmental needs of students. By employing a combination of literature analysis, questionnaire surveys, and case studies, this research selected multiple primary and secondary schools as samples to systematically examine the practical effects of sports dance on improving students' physical fitness, cultivating aesthetic abilities, and promoting mental health. The results indicate that sports dance not only significantly enhances students' coordination, flexibility, and cardiorespiratory function but also effectively boosts their self-confidence and team cooperation awareness. Additionally, the study reveals that sports dance helps stimulate students' interest in physical activities, fostering lifelong exercise habits. A key innovation of this research lies in its first-time integration of sports dance teaching practices with psychological and aesthetic theories, proposing a targeted curriculum design fr amework and validating its feasibility and effectiveness. The main contributions include providing new insights for the reform of physical education curricula in primary and secondary schools, enriching the theoretical foundation of sports dance applications in the educational domain, and offering reference for policymakers and frontline educators.
