Abstract:With the deepening of quality-oriented education, the role of primary school physical education in promoting students' all-round development has become increasingly prominent, and cultivating students' interest in sports has become a critical component for enhancing the quality of physical education. This study aims to explore effective strategies for fostering students' interest in sports within the context of primary school physical education by employing a combination of literature analysis, questionnaire surveys, and case studies to conduct an in-depth examination of the current status of physical education in primary schools. The findings reveal that traditional teaching models suffer from issues such as insufficient fun elements and neglect of individualized needs, whereas innovative approaches based on gamified instruction, diversified activity design, and emotional motivation can significantly increase students' participation in sports and sustain their interest over time. The research indicates that integrating sports programs with students' points of interest and optimizing teaching methods through information technology can effectively stimulate intrinsic motivation among students. A major contribution of this study is the proposal of a systematic fr amework for interest cultivation, which emphasizes the importance of differentiated instruction and situational creation. This fr amework provides practical references for the reform of primary school physical education and expands new perspectives for theoretical research in related fields.
