摘 要:在全球化背景下,英语教育在培养跨文化沟通能力的同时,也亟需融入批判性思维的训练以提升学习者的综合素养。本研究旨在探讨英语教育中批判性思维培养的有效策略,通过系统分析教学实践中的关键问题,提出针对性的解决方案。研究采用混合方法设计,结合问卷调查、课堂观察和深度访谈,选取了来自不同地区和教育层次的500名学生及30名教师作为样本。数据分析表明,当前英语教学中存在批判性思维培养不足的问题,主要体现在教学目标单一、教学方法传统以及评估体系缺乏多元性等方面。为此,本研究提出了基于任务型教学法与项目式学习的整合框架,强调真实语境下的问题解决能力和多视角思考能力的培养。此外,研究还开发了一套适用于英语课堂的批判性思维评估工具,为教学效果的量化提供了支持。研究表明,将批判性思维融入英语教学不仅能显著提高学生的语言能力,还能促进其高阶思维技能的发展。本研究的主要贡献在于构建了一个可操作性强且具有普适性的教学模式,并为相关领域的理论研究与实践探索提供了新思路。

Strategies for Cultivating Critical Thinking in English Education

Abstract:In the context of globalization, English education plays a crucial role in fostering intercultural communication skills while also urgently requiring the integration of critical thinking training to enhance learners' overall competencies. This study aims to explore effective strategies for cultivating critical thinking within English education by systematically analyzing key issues in teaching practices and proposing targeted solutions. A mixed-methods design was employed, combining questionnaires, classroom observations, and in-depth interviews, with a sample consisting of 500 students and 30 teachers from diverse regions and educational levels. The data analysis reveals that there is insufficient emphasis on critical thinking development in current English instruction, primarily manifested in、traditional teaching methods, and a lack of diversity in assessment systems. To address these challenges, this study proposes an integrated fr amework based on task-based language teaching and project-based learning, emphasizing the cultivation of problem-solving abilities in authentic contexts and multi-perspective thinking skills. Additionally, a set of critical thinking assessment tools tailored for English classrooms has been developed, providing support for the quantification of teaching effectiveness. The findings indicate that integrating critical thinking into English education not only significantly improves students' language proficiency but also promotes the development of higher-order thinking skills. The primary contribution of this study lies in constructing a highly operational and universally applicable teaching model, offering new insights for both theoretical research and practical exploration in related fields.
