摘 要：跨文化交际中，非言语行为作为语言交流的重要补充，在传递信息、表达情感和构建关系方面发挥着不可替代的作用，然而其在英语语境中的研究尚存在不足。本研究旨在探讨英语语境下非言语行为的文化差异及其对跨文化交际的影响，以期为相关领域的理论发展与实践应用提供支持。研究采用定量与定性相结合的方法，通过问卷调查、深度访谈及案例分析，收集了来自不同文化背景的200余名参与者的数据，并重点考察了肢体语言、面部表情、眼神接触及空间距离等非言语行为的表现形式与文化内涵。研究结果表明，不同文化背景下的个体在非言语行为的使用上存在显著差异，这些差异可能导致误解或沟通障碍；同时，研究发现部分非言语行为具有跨文化共通性，可作为促进理解的有效工具。本研究的创新点在于首次系统地整合了多种非言语行为类型，并结合具体语境进行分析，提出了基于文化适应的非言语交际策略框架。这一框架不仅丰富了跨文化交际理论，也为英语学习者和跨文化从业者提供了实用指导，有助于提升跨文化交际能力与效果。

A Study of Non-verbal Behaviors in English across Intercultural Communication

Abstract：In intercultural communication, nonverbal behavior serves as a crucial complement to linguistic exchange, playing an indispensable role in conveying information, expressing emotions, and building relationships. However, research on nonverbal behavior within English-speaking contexts remains insufficient. This study aims to investigate the cultural differences in nonverbal behavior in English contexts and their impact on intercultural communication, thereby contributing to the theoretical development and practical application of related fields. A mixed-methods approach was adopted, combining questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and case analyses, to collect data from over 200 participants with diverse cultural backgrounds. The study focused on the forms and cultural implications of nonverbal behaviors such as body language, facial ex pressions, eye contact, and spatial distance. The findings reveal significant variations in the use of nonverbal behavior among individuals from different cultural contexts, which may lead to misunderstandings or communication barriers. Simultaneously, it was discovered that certain nonverbal behaviors exhibit cross-cultural universality and can serve as effective tools for promoting mutual understanding. A key innovation of this study lies in its systematic integration of multiple types of nonverbal behavior analyzed within specific contextual fr ameworks, leading to the proposal of a nonverbal communication strategy fr amework based on cultural adaptation. This fr amework not only enriches intercultural communication theory but also provides practical guidance for English learners and intercultural practitioners, enhancing both the competence and effectiveness of intercultural communication.
