Abstract:Emotional disorders represent a critical research topic in modern mental health due to their high prevalence and complexity, which pose significant challenges to traditional treatment approaches. This study aims to investigate the efficacy and underlying mechanisms of music therapy in the treatment of emotional disorders, providing scientific evidence for clinical practice. A randomized controlled trial design was employed, recruiting 120 patients diagnosed with mild-to-moderate emotional disorders as study participants, who were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received an 8-week systematic music therapy intervention, which included listening to music of specific frequencies, engaging in music composition, and participating in interactive music activities, while the control group only received conventional psychological therapy. Both groups' emotional states and quality of life changes were assessed using the Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), and the Quality of Life questionnaire (QOL). The results demonstrated that the experimental group exhibited significantly greater improvements in emotional well-being and quality of life compared to the control group, with music therapy showing good adaptability and effectiveness across different genders, ages, and symptom types. Further analysis suggested that music therapy may regulate emotions by modulating autonomic nervous system function and promoting neurotransmitter secretion. This study innovatively proposes a standardized music therapy intervention protocol, validating its feasibility and superiority in treating emotional disorders, thus offering new insights into interdisciplinary integration. The findings indicate that music therapy can serve as a valuable complement to traditional psychological treatments, with broad application prospects.
