随着经济全球化和市场竞争的加剧,中小企业作为推动经济增长和技术创新的重要力量,其创新行为受到市场结构的显著影响。本研究旨在探讨不同市场结构下中小企业的创新决策机制及其绩效表现,以揭示市场集中度、进入壁垒等关键因素对中小企业创新活动的作用路径。通过构建理论模型并结合实证分析方法,研究选取了中国制造业中小企业为样本,运用面板数据回归分析技术,系统考察了市场结构与企业创新行为之间的关系。研究结果表明,市场集中度在一定程度上抑制了中小企业创新投入的积极性,而适度的竞争环境能够激发其创新潜力;此外,进入壁垒的高低对创新行为的影响具有行业异质性特征。本研究的创新点在于引入动态视角分析市场结构的长期效应,并将制度环境纳入分析框架,进一步丰富了相关理论内涵。主要贡献体现在三个方面:一是深化了对中小企业创新行为驱动机制的理解;二是为政策制定者优化市场竞争环境提供了实证依据;三是拓展了现有文献中关于市场结构与企业创新关系的研究边界,为后续研究奠定了基础。这些发现对于促进中小企业创新发展及提升整体经济活力具有重要的理论价值和实践意义。

The Impact of Market Structure on the Innovative Behavior of Small and Medium Enterprises

Abstract: With the deepening of economic globalization and intensifying market competition, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as a crucial force driving economic growth and technological innovation, have seen their innovative behaviors significantly influenced by market structure. This study aims to explore the decision-making mechanisms and performance manifestations of SME innovation under different market structures, revealing the pathways through which key factors such as market concentration and entry barriers affect SME innovation activities. By constructing a theoretical model and employing empirical analysis methods, this research selects Chinese manufacturing SMEs as samples, utilizing panel data regression analysis techniques to systematically examine the relationship between market structure and corporate innovation behavior. The results indicate that market concentration partially suppresses the enthusiasm of SMEs for innovation investment, while a moderately competitive environment can stimulate their innovative potential. Moreover, the impact of entry barriers on innovation behavior exhibits industry-specific heterogeneity. A notable contribution of this study lies in its introduction of a dynamic perspective to analyze the long-term effects of market structure and the incorporation of institutional environment into the analytical fr amework, thereby enriching the theoretical implications of related studies. The main contributions are reflected in three aspects: first, enhancing the understanding of the driving mechanisms behind SME innovation behavior; second, providing empirical evidence for policymakers to optimize market competition environments; third, expanding the boundaries of existing literature concerning the relationship between market structure and corporate innovation, laying a foundation for future research. These findings hold significant theoretical and practical implications for promoting SME innovation development and enhancing overall economic vitality.
