PROGRESS IN EARLY IDENTIFICATION AND TREATMENT OF ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE IN PET DOGS

ABSTRACT

With the aging problem of pet dogs becoming more and more prominent, Alzheimer's disease has become one of the important diseases affecting the health of dogs. The purpose of this study was to explore the early identification and treatment strategies of pet dogs with Alzheimer's disease, in order to provide scientific basis for clinical practice. Background Based on recent in-depth studies of canine neurodegenerative diseases, it is found that the pathogenesis of CDS is similar to that of human Alzheimer's disease, especially in terms of neuronal damage and brain inflammatory response. To this end, the present study used multimodal data analysis methods, combined with behavioral assessment, neuroimaging and blood biomarker detection, to systematically assess the cognitive function status of 120 elderly dogs. The results showed that behavioral scores were highly correlated with neuroimaging results, and abnormal elevation of specific inflammatory factors and oxidative stress indexes in blood could be an important basis for early diagnosis. In terms of treatment, this study proposed a comprehensive intervention program for the first time, including drug therapy, cognitive training and environmental optimization, which significantly improved the cognitive function and quality of life of dogs in the experimental group. The innovation lies in applying multidimensional data integration to early diagnosis and verifying the effectiveness of comprehensive intervention strategies. The study shows that early identification and intervention are of great significance for delaying the progression of CDS, and provide new ideas and methods for the prevention and treatment of canine Alzheimer's disease in the future.
