猫冠状病毒是一种广泛存在于猫群中的病毒,其变异与猫传染性腹膜炎的发生密切相关。本研究旨在探讨FCoV变异与临床症状之间的关联,以期为FIP的早期诊断和防控提供科学依据。通过对2018年至2022年间中国多个地区的300只猫进行病毒基因组测序和临床症状分析,研究发现FCoV的基因变异主要集中在ORF7a和ORF3c区域,这些区域的突变与病毒毒力的增强显著相关。进一步的统计分析表明,携带高频突变的FCoV感染猫中,FIP的发病率较普通感染猫高出约45%。此外,研究还发现某些特定的氨基酸替换与猫的免疫反应减弱有关,这可能是导致FIP易感性增加的重要因素。本研究首次系统性地揭示了FCoV基因变异与临床症状之间的复杂关系,为理解FIP的发病机制提供了新的视角。

STUDY ON ASSOCIATION BETWEEN FELINE CORONAVIRUS VARIATION AND CLINICAL SYMPTOMS
ABSTRACT
Feline coronavirus is a virus that exists widely in cat population, and its mutation is closely related to the occurrence of feline infectious peritonitis. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between FCoV variation and clinical symptoms, in order to provide scientific basis for the early diagnosis and prevention of FIP. Through viral genome sequencing and clinical symptom analysis of 300 cats from multiple regions in China between 2018 and 2022, the study found that the genetic variation of FCoV was mainly concentrated in the ORF7a and ORF3c regions, and mutations in these regions were significantly associated with enhanced virulence of the virus. Further statistical analysis showed that the incidence of FIP in FCoV-infected cats carrying the high-frequency mutation was about 45% higher than in cats with common infections. In addition, the study found that certain amino acid replacements were associated with a weakened immune response in cats, which may be an important factor in the increased susceptibility to FIP. This study is the first to systematically reveal the complex relationship between FCoV gene variation and clinical symptoms, providing a new perspective for understanding the pathogenesis of FIP.
