Research on Continuous Quality Improvement of Engineering Based on the PDCA Cycle

Abstract: With the rapid development of the construction industry, engineering quality has become one of the key factors influencing the success or failure of projects. However, traditional quality management methods often suffer from systemic deficiencies and inadequate feedback mechanisms, making it difficult to meet the continuous pursuit of high quality in modern engineering. To address this issue, this study explores the application pathways and optimization strategies of the PDCA cycle theory in the continuous improvement of engineering quality. The aim is to establish a quality management system based on the PDCA cycle, achieving closed-loop management from plan formulation and execution monitoring to inspection evaluation and corrective actions, thereby enhancing the level of engineering quality management. This research employs a combination of literature analysis, case studies, and empirical analysis to thoroughly examine the core elements and interrelationships of each stage of the PDCA cycle, with validation conducted through actual engineering projects. The results indicate that this system can significantly improve the systematicness and effectiveness of quality control while facilitating the timely identification and resolution of problems. The primary innovation of this study lies in the deep integration of the PDCA cycle with the requirements of modern engineering quality management, proposing an operational improvement fr amework and demonstrating its feasibility and superiority through specific cases. This research not only provides new insights into the continuous improvement of engineering quality but also lays a foundation for the theoretical development and practical application of related fields.
