ABSTRACT


The urban heat island (UHI) effect, as a significant environmental issue in the context of global climate change and urbanization, has exerted notable impacts on public health, energy consumption, and ecological balance. This study aims to explore effective mitigation strategies to alleviate adverse effects of the UHI. By integrating remote sensing data analysis, numerical simulations, and field observations, the study systematically evaluates the mechanisms through which different land-use types, green space configurations, and material properties influence urban microclimates. A typical urban area was selected as a case study to analyze the practical effects of measures such as high-albedo materials, optimized vegetation coverage, and water body introduction. A multi-scenario comparison model was also constructed to quantify their long-term benefits. The results indicate that rational planning of green space distribution and increased surface albedo can significantly reduce local temperatures, with the combination of rooftop greening and permeable paving demonstrating the most optimal cooling performance. Furthermore, this study innovatively proposes a dynamic feedback-based fr amework for urban thermal environment regulation, which enables flexible adjustment of mitigation strategies according to seasonal and climatic conditions. This fr amework not only enhances the adaptability and cost-effectiveness of mitigation measures but also provides scientific support for urban planning. Overall, this research offers theoretical underpinnings and technical references for developing targeted UHI mitigation policies, while emphasizing the critical role of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing complex urban environmental challenges.
