Abstract

  With the rapid development of information technology, the application of digital media technology in public health communication has become increasingly widespread, offering new possibilities for enhancing public health awareness and promoting behavioral change. This study aims to explore the effectiveness and potential advantages of digital media technology in public health communication by systematically analyzing its dissemination efficiency, audience receptiveness, and information coverage, thereby evaluating its practical contribution to public health interventions. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative research, with a pilot region selected for implementation. Using social media platforms, mobile applications, and virtual reality technology, a one-year public health campaign was conducted. Relevant data were collected through questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and statistical analysis. The results indicate that digital media technology significantly improved the speed and reach of public health information dissemination, particularly demonstrating higher acceptance and engagement among younger populations. Moreover, digital media tools characterized by interactivity and personalization effectively facilitated the formation and maintenance of healthy behaviors. An innovative aspect of this study is the first-time integration of virtual reality technology into public health communication, validating its unique role in simulating health risk scenarios and enhancing experiential impact. The conclusion suggests that the application of digital media technology not only optimizes traditional public health communication models but also provides new insights for precise and personalized health interventions, laying an important foundation for future practice and research in this field.
