Abstract

  Inflammation serves as a defensive response of the organism to harmful stimuli, yet excessive or chronic inflammation can lead to various diseases. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) extracts possess unique advantages in anti-inflammatory treatments, and this study aims to explore their applications and mechanisms. Through comprehensive literature analysis and experimental research, representative TCM extracts such as Scutellaria baicalensis and Forsythia suspensa were selected for in-depth investigation. By employing a combination of cellular and animal models along with modern biological techniques to measure relevant indicators, the results demonstrated that these TCM extracts effectively inhibited the ex pression of inflammatory factors, modulated immune cell functions, and alleviated the degree of inflammatory responses. Notably, certain components exerted anti-inflammatory effects by regulating signaling pathways such as NF-κB, which represents an innovative aspect of this research. Additionally, some extracts exhibited synergistic enhancement characteristics, achieving desirable anti-inflammatory outcomes at lower doses, thereby reducing the risk of adverse reactions. This study not only provides theoretical evidence for the application of TCM extracts in anti-inflammatory fields but also points to the development of novel anti-inflammatory drugs. The primary contribution lies in uncovering new mechanisms of TCM extracts in anti-inflammatory actions, promoting the integration of traditional Chinese medicine with modern medicine, and advancing the development of anti-inflammatory treatments, offering new perspectives for clinical applications.
