Abstract

Inflammatory diseases are common multisystem disorders in clinical practice, characterized by complex pathogenesis involving abnormal activation of multiple cytokines and signaling pathways. While conventional anti-inflammatory drugs have demonstrated certain efficacy, their long-term use is associated with numerous adverse effects. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) monomers, possessing the advantages of multi-target effects and low toxicity, have shown significant potential in the treatment of inflammatory diseases. This study aims to investigate the intervention effects and molecular mechanisms of different TCM monomers on inflammatory diseases. Through literature retrieval and screening, representative TCM monomers such as baicalin, resveratrol, and curcumin were selected as research subjects. The study employed a combination of cellular experiments and animal models. At the cellular level, LPS-induced macrophage inflammation models were utilized to examine the impact of these monomers on the ex pression of inflammatory factors such as TNF-α and IL-6. At the animal level, peritonitis and arthritis models in mice were constructed to observe the improvement of inflammatory symptoms and the modulation of related inflammatory indicators by the monomers. The results indicate that these TCM monomers effectively inhibit the overex pression of inflammatory factors and alleviate inflammatory tissue pathological damage, possibly through the regulation of inflammatory signaling pathways such as NF-κB and MAPK. This study innovatively integrates research findings on multiple TCM monomers, providing theoretical evidence for a deeper understanding of their anti-inflammatory effects and offering new insights and directions for the development of novel anti-inflammatory drugs. The primary contribution lies in elucidating the key aspects of the anti-inflammatory actions of TCM monomers at the molecular mechanism level, laying a solid foundation for future research.
