Abstract

With the popularity of the concept of healthy diet, probiotics, as beneficial ingredients in food, have received extensive attention. Probiotics are a class of active microorganisms that can colonize the human gut and produce positive health effects, and their influence on the gut microbiome is particularly important. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of probiotics in food on intestinal microbial communities and to provide theoretical basis for their application in food industry. The gut microbiome is a complex and delicate ecosystem that plays a vital role in human health. Probiotics, as beneficial bacteria in the gut, maintain the balance of intestinal microecology by interacting with other microorganisms. They inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, reduce intestinal pH, enhance intestinal mucosal barrier function, and promote the absorption and utilization of nutrients. In addition, probiotics can also have a positive impact on human health by regulating the immune system, reducing inflammation and other ways. The intake of probiotics in food has a significant effect on the gut microbiome. First of all, the addition of probiotics can increase the number and types of beneficial bacteria in the gut, thereby improving the balance of intestinal microecology. Second, probiotics inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria and reduce the risk of intestinal diseases by interacting with other microorganisms.
