摘要

严歌苓的《扶桑》以19世纪末至20世纪初的美国旧金山为背景，通过塑造一位华裔妓女扶桑的独特形象，深刻揭示了女性在异国他乡的生存困境与文化认同问题。本研究旨在探讨《扶桑》中妓女形象的独特性及其背后的文化与历史意义，通过文本细读与女性主义批评相结合的方法，分析扶桑这一角色如何突破传统文学中对妓女形象的刻板化描写，并展现其复杂的人性深度与文化张力。研究发现，扶桑的形象不仅承载了个体命运的悲剧性，更折射出跨文化语境下边缘群体的身份建构与抗争意识。她以一种沉默而坚韧的方式，挑战了主流社会对女性的压迫与歧视，同时展现了超越种族与性别界限的人性光辉。本文的创新点在于将扶桑置于全球化视野下的女性书写脉络中进行考察，强调其作为“他者”形象的多重可能性与象征意义。《扶桑》中的妓女形象打破了传统叙事模式，为理解女性在跨文化语境中的主体性提供了新的视角，同时也丰富了华裔文学中关于身份认同与文化记忆的讨论。

An Analysis of the Unique Prostitute Figure in Yan Geling's "Susu"

Abstract

Yan Geling's "Fusang" is set in San Francisco from the end of 19th century to the beginning of 20th century. By portraying the unique image of Fusang, a Chinese prostitute, it deeply reveals the dilemma of women's survival and cultural identity in a foreign land. This study aims to explore the uniqueness of the prostitute image in Fuso and the cultural and historical significance behind it. Through the method of combining the close reading of the text with feminist criticism, it analyzes how the role of Fusang breaks through the stereotypical desc ription of the prostitute image in traditional literature and shows its complex human depth and cultural tension. It is found that the image of Fuso not only carries the tragic fate of the individual, but also reflects the identity construction and resistance consciousness of the marginal group in the cross-cultural context. In a silent and tenacious way, she challenged the oppression and discrimination against women in the mainstream society, while showing the brilliance of humanity beyond the boundaries of race and gender. The innovation of this paper is to investigate Fuso in the context of female writing under the global vision, emphasizing the multiple possibilities and symbolic meanings of Fuso as the image of "the other". The prostitute image in Fuso breaks the traditional narrative mode, provides a new perspective for understanding the subjectivity of women in the cross-cultural context, and enriches the discussion on identity and cultural memory in Chinese literature.
