ABSTRACT

With the rapid development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, smart home devices are becoming increasingly prevalent; however, concerns regarding potential privacy leakage risks have also grown significantly. This study aims to systematically evaluate the privacy leakage risks associated with data collection, transmission, and storage in smart home devices and proposes targeted protective strategies. A multidimensional analytical approach is adopted, combining real-world case studies to conduct an in-depth analysis of the data processing workflows of common smart home devices. Additionally, threat modeling techniques are employed to identify potential attack vectors. The findings indicate that current smart home devices generally suffer from insufficient data encryption, weak permission management, and security vulnerabilities in third-party services, which may lead to unauthorized access or misuse of users' sensitive information. Innovatively, this research constructs a comprehensive evaluation fr amework capable of quantifying the degree of privacy leakage risks across different devices and providing personalized security recommendations to users. Furthermore, a lightweight privacy protection mechanism is developed, which significantly enhances data security without compromising device performance. In summary, this study not only uncovers the critical risk points of privacy leakage in smart home devices but also offers theoretical support and practical guidance for technological improvements, thereby contributing significantly to the healthy development of the smart home industry.
