The brotherhood between Amir and Hassan in The Kite Runner
Abstract：Based on his best-selling novel "The Kite Runner", this paper analyzes the brotherhood between Amir and his servant Hassan. The article first summarizes the creation background of the novel and the author introduction, laying the foundation for the subsequent analysis. This article introduces the plot outline of the novel, and discusses the initial relationship between Amir and Hassan in childhood, including their carefree, the witness of kite competition, the germination of jealousy and misunderstanding, and the initial construction of brotherhood. This paper analyzes the thoughts of the two people in the separation and growth, especially the family changes after Hassan's departure, Amir's growth and self-reflection, the bridge between letters and memory, and the brotherhood across time and space. Focusing on the road of reunion and redemption, he elaborated on Amir's awakening and atonement process, the shock of reunion and truth disclosure, and Hassan's forgiveness and sacrifice. Through the in-depth analysis of these contents, this paper reveals the profound connotation of the brotherhood and the profound revelation of the human nature in the kite-runner, and also shows the unique charm of the novel in the literary value and social significance.
