【Abstract】The system of people's assessors is one of the important achievements of China's judicial reform, which has been widely applied in criminal and civil cases. This article explores the overview, practice and problems, operation and standardization construction, and discussion and outlook of the people's jury system from four aspects, with the aim of providing useful references for future judicial reform and standardization construction of the people's jury system through in-depth research. Firstly, this article provides an overview of the people's assessor system, including its origin and history, legislation and development in China, composition and responsibilities. Next, this article provides a detailed introduction to the application of the people's assessor system in criminal and civil cases, explores its practice, problems, and future development trends. In terms of operation and standardization construction, the article provides a detailed introduction to the operational mechanism of the people's assessor system, as well as its standardization construction and judicial guarantee measures. Finally, this article conducts a comprehensive analysis and exploration of the evaluation of the people's jury system by the media and academia, as well as the problems and countermeasures that exist in the system, as well as the future development trends.
