摘 要
明清时期是中国商业经济迅速发展的历史阶段,商人阶层的社会地位与文化形象逐渐成为文学创作的重要主题。本研究以明清小说中的商人形象塑造为核心,探讨其形成机制及其对社会观念的影响。通过系统梳理相关文学作品,结合社会史与文化批评理论,本文采用文本细读与跨学科分析相结合的方法,深入剖析商人形象的多样性与复杂性。研究发现,明清小说中的商人形象不仅反映了当时社会对财富与道德关系的思考,还体现了商业伦理与传统价值观之间的张力。具体而言,部分作品展现了商人的精明能干与诚信经营,而另一些则揭示了逐利行为可能引发的社会问题。此外,本研究特别关注女性商人形象的塑造,这一创新视角弥补了现有研究中性别维度的不足。研究表明,商人形象的多样化呈现不仅推动了文学叙事的发展,也对当时及后世的社会观念产生了深远影响,尤其是在商业伦理与社会公平方面的讨论中发挥了重要作用。总体而言,本研究为理解明清时期的商业文化与文学表达提供了新的视角,并为探讨文学与社会互动关系贡献了有价值的学术成果。

Representation of Merchant Figures in Ming and Qing Novels and Their Social Impact

Abstract:The Ming and Qing dynasties marked a historical period of rapid development in China's commercial economy, during which the social status and cultural image of merchants gradually became a significant theme in literary creation. This study focuses on the portrayal of merchants in Ming and Qing novels, exploring the mechanisms underlying their formation and their influence on societal perceptions. By systematically examining relevant literary works and integrating methodologies from social history and cultural criticism, this research employs a combination of close reading and interdisciplinary analysis to delve into the diversity and complexity of merchant representations. The findings reveal that the depiction of merchants in Ming and Qing fiction not only reflects contemporary reflections on the relationship between wealth and morality but also highlights the tension between commercial ethics and traditional values. Specifically, some works portray merchants as astute and honest entrepreneurs, while others expose the potential social issues arising from profit-driven behavior. Additionally, this study pays particular attention to the representation of female merchants, an innovative perspective that addresses the gender dimension underrepresented in existing scholarship. The research demonstrates that the multifaceted portrayal of merchants not only advanced literary narratives but also profoundly influenced contemporary and subsequent societal perceptions, particularly in discussions concerning commercial ethics and social equity. Overall, this study offers a new perspective for understanding commercial culture and literary ex pression in the Ming and Qing periods and contributes valuable academic insights into the interaction between literature and society.
