Abstract

  With the rapid development of digital technology, the methods of information delivery have become increasingly diversified. Among these, flat design and three-dimensional design stand out as two dominant visual styles, each exhibiting distinct characteristics in terms of user experience and the efficiency of information transmission. This study focuses on the effectiveness of information delivery, investigating the differences between flat and three-dimensional design in cognitive efficiency, user preference, and emotional experience. By employing a multidimensional research approach that combines questionnaire surveys, eye-tracking experiments, and user interviews, participants from various age groups and professional backgrounds were selected to analyze their speed of information acquisition, memory accuracy, and subjective satisfaction regarding the two design styles. The results indicate that flat design demonstrates significant advantages in simplicity and rapid information transmission, particularly appealing to younger user groups and scenarios requiring efficient information processing. In contrast, three-dimensional design, with its spatial and hierarchical qualities, is more effective in presenting complex information structures and enhancing users' immersion and emotional resonance. Innovatively integrating both quantitative and qualitative analyses, this study reveals the applicability of the two design styles under different task requirements, providing theoretical foundations and practical guidance for designers in real-world projects. Additionally, the study proposes a hybrid design strategy based on user characteristics and task types, further optimizing the effectiveness of information delivery.
