Prevention of Skin Injury During Prone Position Ventilation in ARDS Patients 

Abstract
Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) patients undergoing prone position ventilation are at a higher risk of skin damage, which has become an important challenge in clinical care. This study aims to explore effective skin damage prevention strategies to reduce the incidence of complications during prone position ventilation. By systematically reviewing relevant domestic and international literature and integrating clinical practice, 120 ARDS patients from a tertiary hospital were selected as research subjects and divided into a conventional care group and a comprehensive intervention group using a randomized controlled trial design. The comprehensive intervention group implemented innovative preventive measures based on optimized pressure distribution, scientifically selected materials, and personalized care plans. The results showed that the incidence of skin damage in the comprehensive intervention group was significantly lower than that in the conventional care group (P0.05), with higher patient comfort scores. Moreover, the intervention measures did not increase additional nursing burdens or economic costs, demonstrating good feasibility and promotion value. The comprehensive prevention strategy proposed in this study provides a scientific basis for clinical practice, contributing to enhancing the safety and effectiveness of prone position ventilation for ARDS patients, while also laying a foundation for future related research.
