Abstract:Cracking is a common problem during the construction of high rockfill dam, which may have a great impact on the stability of the dam and the safety of the structure. In this paper, the cracking mechanism of high rockfill dam face during construction is analyzed, and the influencing factors are discussed. By studying the measurement methods of crack width and depth and the law of crack development, we can evaluate the impact of crack on structural safety more accurately. At the same time, this paper also investigated the cracking status of high rockfill dam during the construction period, and found that the cracking phenomenon is common, and the crack distribution is wide and complex, and the crack repair is difficult. To solve this problem, we put forward some countermeasures, including optimization of construction technology and parameters, improvement of material properties and use conditions, establishment of effective monitoring and early warning system, and implementation of crack repair and reinforcement measures. By taking these measures, the risk of cracking during the construction period of high rockfill dam can be effectively reduced.
