Abstract 
With the deepening of industrial automation, automatic packaging production lines play a vital role in many industries such as food, medicine, and chemical industry. The automatic packaging production line control system based on programmable logic controller (PLC), with its high reliability, flexible programming ability and powerful control ability, has become the preferred solution for the automation upgrade of modern packaging industry. This paper aims to discuss the design principle, key functions and application effect of automatic packaging production line control system based on PLC in improving production efficiency and ensuring product quality. This paper summarizes the importance of automatic packaging production line in modern industrial production. With the changes in market demand and the improvement of consumer requirements for product quality, traditional manual or semi-automatic packaging has been difficult to meet the efficient, accurate and hygienic production needs. PLC based automatic packaging production line control system through the integration of sensors, actuators, human-machine interface and other equipment, to achieve the precise control of the packaging process and automation, greatly improve the production efficiency and product quality. This paper elaborates the design idea and key technology of automatic packaging production line control system based on PLC. With PLC as the core controller, the system realizes the linkage control of key equipment such as packaging machine, conveyor, weighing machine and sealing machine through programming. At the same time, sensors are used to monitor the supply of packaging materials, product position and packaging quality in real time to ensure the accuracy and stability of packaging. In addition, the system also has the functions of fault self-diagnosis, remote monitoring and data statistical analysis, which provides strong support for the stable operation and continuous optimization of the production line. This paper summarizes the results and advantages of the automatic packaging production line control system based on PLC in practical application. The system not only significantly improves packaging speed and production efficiency, reduces labor costs and material losses, but also ensures stability and consistency of packaging quality through precise control. At the same time, the flexibility and scalability of the system also provide convenience for the upgrading of the production line and the introduction of new products. Therefore, the automatic packaging production line control system based on PLC is of great significance in promoting the automation and intelligent transformation of the packaging industry.
