Abstract 
With the rapid development of science and technology, artificial intelligence (AI) has become an important engine to promote the continuous progress of robotics. The introduction of artificial intelligence not only significantly improves the intelligence level of robots, but also provides a broad space for its application in various fields. This paper aims to discuss the design and application of artificial intelligence in robotics, in order to provide new ideas and directions for the development of related fields. In the design level of robotics, artificial intelligence plays a pivotal role. With the help of advanced algorithms such as deep learning and machine learning, robots can simulate human thinking patterns and realize the perception, understanding and learning of the environment. At the same time, by optimizing the hardware structure and motion control algorithm of the robot, it can better adapt to various complex scenes and task requirements. These innovations in design enable robots to have higher autonomy, flexibility and intelligence. In terms of application fields, artificial intelligence has brought infinite possibilities to robots. In the field of industrial production, intelligent robots can automatically complete various tasks on the production line, improving production efficiency and quality.
