Abstract
Firstly, this article introduces the research background and significance, as well as the current research status at home and abroad, and clarifies the research purpose and content. Next, the article introduces the author and historical background of "The Plum in the Golden Vase", as well as the image characteristics and character analysis of female characters in the novel. It explores the manifestations of family and marriage, as well as sex and love.
Subsequently, this article proposes the changes in the status of women during the Ming and Qing dynasties, elaborating on the changes in marriage systems, opportunities for women's education and cultural development, and changes in women's employment status. Then, the article analyzed the marriage, family, and sexual moral concepts reflected in "The Plum in the Golden Vase" during the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as the influence of the female personality traits and social concepts portrayed in the book. Finally, it explored the relationship between the changes in female images in "The Plum in the Golden Vase" and social development and changes.
