Abstract:Based on the analysis of energy consumption and application of energy saving technology in communication network, this paper makes an in-depth study on the characteristics of energy consumption in communication network. Firstly, it introduces the background and purpose of the research, as well as the research status at home and abroad. Then, the basic concept and classification of communication network are defined and classified, and the components of communication network are expounded. Then, the characteristics and main sources of energy consumption of communication network are analyzed. In the part of overview of energy saving technology in communication network, the definition and classification of energy saving technology are described, and the development history, research status and trend are emphasized. The application of energy saving technology in communication network is discussed, such as green base station technology, intelligent optical network technology and energy management system. Next, the challenges of energy saving technology in communication network are analyzed, including technology upgrading, energy supply and user behavior. Finally, countermeasures and suggestions are put forward, including improving energy efficiency, promoting renewable energy application and strengthening user education and behavior guidance. This paper provides an important reference for the development and sustainability of communication networks by analyzing the energy consumption of communication networks and the application of energy-saving technologies
