摘 要：《边城》是著名作家沈从文先生的代表作之一，创作于20世纪30年代的中国，正值中国社会经历剧烈变革的时期。沈从文以其独特的文学风格，将自然景色、民俗风情与人物命运紧密结合，展现了湘西地区独特的文化景观和人民的精神世界。文章简要介绍了《边城》的创作时代背景及作者沈从文的生平与创作风格，为后续分析奠定了基础。接着，通过详细梳理故事情节，揭示了故事的主要线索及地域文化特色，展现了湘西边陲小镇的独特风貌。文章深入探讨了老船夫的形象特征，展现了这一人物形象的丰富性和复杂性。文章从命运的无常与无奈、人性的光辉与暗淡、文化传统的传承与冲突等角度进行了深入剖析，揭示了老船夫悲剧命运的深层原因及其对社会、文化的深远影响。

The image and tragic significance of the old boatman in the Border Town
Abstract ：The Border Town is one of the representative works of the famous writer Shen Congwen. It was written in China in the 1930s, at a time when Chinese society is undergoing drastic changes. With his unique literary style, Shen Congwen closely combines the natural scenery and folk customs with the fate of the characters, showing the unique cultural landscape of western Hunan and the spiritual world of the people. This paper briefly introduces the background of the creation of The Border City and the life and creation style of Shen Congwen, which lays a foundation for the follow-up analysis. Then, through the detailed combing of the story plot, the main clues and regional cultural characteristics of the story are revealed, showing the unique style of the border town in western Hunan. The article deeply discusses the image characteristics of the old boatman, and shows the richness and complexity of this character image. The article makes an in-depth analysis from the perspectives of the impermanence and helplessness of human nature, the inheritance and conflict of cultural tradition, and reveals the deep cause of the tragic fate of the old boatman and its far-reaching influence on society and culture.
