OPTIMIZATION OF MOUNTAIN AFFORESTATION TECHNOLOGY AND ITS INFLUENCE ON SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION
ABSTRACT
The paper discusses the optimization of mountain afforestation technology and its role in soil and water conservation. The paper points out that traditional technologies face challenges such as tree species adaptability, soil erosion and water resource management, which affect the ecological stability of mountain areas. The innovation and optimization strategies of modern technology are introduced, such as scientific planning, seed selection, fine land preparation, intensive tending management and promotion of advanced afforestation technology. Emphasize the importance of preliminary research, ensure the coordination between afforestation activities and local ecological conditions, improve the efficiency of land use, select tree species to enhance the stress resistance and growth ability of trees, and promote vegetation restoration. It is proposed to improve the forest growth quality and the stability of the ecosystem by optimizing the soil structure, strengthening the pest control and scientific pruning. The positive effects of afforestation technology optimization on water and soil conservation were analyzed, such as increasing vegetation coverage, inhibiting soil erosion, enhancing mountain stability, regulating rainfall runoff, reducing water erosion and protecting water resources. These measures contribute to the restoration and upgrading of mountain ecosystems, providing ecosystem services to local communities, such as water conservation, climate regulation, and biodiversity conservation.
