Abstract: This article aims to explore the concepts, advantages and disadvantages of government performance evaluation and performance management, and compare their application in practice. Firstly, it introduces the research background and significance, as well as the research purpose and content. Next, the basic concepts of government performance evaluation and performance management were elaborated, including their definitions, ob jectives, and principles. And clarified their relationship and differences. Then, the advantages and disadvantages of government performance evaluation and performance management were compared, and their advantages, limitations, challenges, and comprehensive evaluation in practice were analyzed. In the practical application comparison section, a comparison was made between domestic and foreign applications, including case analysis and comparison. Finally, draw conclusions and propose corresponding suggestions. Through this study, it is helpful to deepen the understanding of government performance evaluation and management, and provide reference and guidance for government decision-making and management.
