Discussion on the shortage of teachers in preschool education and its solution

Abstract: As a key stage of children's growth, preschool education plays an irreplaceable role in their cognitive, emotional and social development. However, the shortage of teachers in preschool education has become increasingly prominent, which seriously restricts the quality and development of preschool education. This paper aims to deeply explore the problem of insufficient preschool education teachers, analyze its causes, and put forward corresponding solutions, in order to provide useful reference for the healthy development of preschool education in our country. The shortage of preschool education teachers is mainly manifested in two aspects: insufficient quantity and uneven quality. On the one hand, with the increasing demand for preschool education, the number of qualified teachers has not grown at the same time, resulting in a widespread shortage of teachers. On the other hand, some teachers lack professional preschool education background and teaching skills, which is difficult to be competent for teaching work, affecting the quality of education. The reasons for this problem are various. First of all, the preschool education major is not attractive enough, and many outstanding talents are unwilling to choose to engage in this profession. Secondly, teachers' salaries are relatively low and their career development prospects are limited, leading to a serious brain drain. In addition, the imperfection of the preschool education teacher training and training system is also an important reason for the lack of teachers. Aiming at the above problems, this paper puts forward a series of solutions. First of all, we should strengthen the publicity and promotion of preschool education, improve the awareness of the importance of preschool education in society, and attract more outstanding talents to participate in the cause of preschool education. Secondly, improve teachers' salary and professional status, improve their working environment and conditions, and enhance teachers' professional honor and sense of belonging.
