Jane Eyre is an autobiographical novel written by British female writer Charlotte Bronte in the mid-19th century. This paper takes Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre as the research ob ject and deeply explores the literary significance and social value of the protagonist Jane Eyre's image. Firstly, the paper provides an overview of the author Charlotte Bronte's life background and the creative environment of Jane Eyre, providing background support for understanding the image of Jane Eyre. Furthermore, the paper provides a detailed analysis of Jane Eyre's independent spirit, including her pursuit of equality and maintenance of self-esteem, revealing the unique value of this image in terms of gender equality and social status struggle. In Chapter 4, the paper explores Jane Eyre's views on love and marriage, showcasing her independent and firm attitude towards love and marriage choices through her love entanglement with Rochester. In Chapter 5, the paper further highlights the characteristics of Jane Eyre's image, such as resilience and independence, by comparing her with her aunt Mrs. Reed, Helen Pence, St. John, and other characters.
