Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the multiple influences of social media on news communication. Through a detailed analysis of the basic concepts and characteristics of social media and mainstream platforms (such as Weibo, wechat and Facebook), this paper analyzes how social media affects the speed, mode, audience scope and authenticity of news transmission. In the current digital and networked social environment, social media, as a new media tool, has become an important channel for news communication that cannot be ignored. Social media, with its immediacy, interactivity and wide influence, has greatly changed the pattern of traditional news communication. Through social media, news information can be quickly spread to all parts of the world, which greatly improves the speed of news transmission. Social media has also promoted the transformation of news dissemination, making news dissemination more diversified and personalized. However, the wide application of social media in news communication has also brought a series of challenges, such as the difficulty to control the authenticity of information and the increasing uncertainty of public opinion environment. Through in-depth analysis of the specific impact of social media in news communication, the paper discusses how news media face these challenges. The research mainly includes the impact of social media on the speed, mode, audience and authenticity of news transmission, as well as the challenges of social media on the business model of news media, the way of news reporting, and the construction of talent team. In response to these challenges, this study puts forward corresponding strategies, including digital transformation, news reporting methods and content innovation, talent training and team building, and social responsibility and credibility construction.
