Abstract

With the rapid development of Internet technology, search engines have become one of the primary channels for users to acquire information, and their role in enterprise marketing is becoming increasingly prominent. This study aims to explore the influence mechanism and practical effects of search engine marketing on website traffic. By integrating literature analysis with empirical research, the study first reviews the fundamental principles and current application status of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising. Subsequently, typical websites from multiple industries are selected as research subjects, and their traffic data are collected and processed using big data analytics technology. Qualitative data are further obtained through questionnaires and in-depth interviews. The results indicate that search engine marketing significantly enhances website traffic. Specifically, SEO strategies primarily achieve long-term and stable traffic growth by improving natural search rankings, while PPC advertisements bring about short-term traffic surges due to their precise targeting and rapid response characteristics. Moreover, the study finds that factors such as content quality, user experience, and brand reputation play important moderating roles in the effectiveness of search engine marketing. The innovation of this research lies in its pioneering integration of quantitative analysis and qualitative research to construct a comprehensive fr amework for evaluating the impact of search engine marketing, providing a new perspective for relevant theoretical studies. Meanwhile, the findings offer practical guidance for enterprises in formulating more effective online marketing strategies, emphasizing the importance of integrating SEO and PPC resources and optimizing user experience. In conclusion, search engine marketing is a critical approach to enhancing website traffic, and its effectiveness is influenced by various factors. Strategies should be flexibly adjusted according to specific goals and resource conditions to achieve optimal benefits.
