Abstract
With the rapid development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, its application in smart home systems has become a critical approach to enhancing living quality and achieving intelligent management. This study focuses on IoT technology, exploring its practical applications and optimization strategies within smart home systems. By analyzing the key characteristics of IoT technology and its integration mechanisms with smart home systems, this research proposes an efficient and stable solution for smart homes. A combination of literature review and experimental validation is employed to evaluate the technical architecture of existing smart home systems. Furthermore, an IoT architecture based on the collaboration of edge computing and cloud computing is designed to address issues of low data processing efficiency and response delays in traditional systems. The experimental results demonstrate that this architecture significantly improves system real-time performance and reliability while reducing energy consumption and operational maintenance costs. Additionally, this study develops an interoperability protocol for smart devices, effectively resolving compatibility problems among heterogeneous devices and providing technical support for the construction of a smart home ecosystem. The findings indicate that the application of IoT technology not only enhances the comfort and security of home environments but also offers users personalized service experiences. The primary contribution of this study lies in the proposal of an innovative system architecture and protocol design, providing theoretical foundations and technical references for the future development of smart home systems.
