Research on the application of current current break protection in high voltage transmission lines

ABSTRACT

Current current break protection is an important relay protection method in power system, and its application in high voltage transmission lines is of great significance. With the continuous development of power system, the scale of high-voltage transmission lines is gradually expanding, and the types of faults it faces are becoming more and more complex, which puts forward higher requirements for current current break protection. This study aims to deeply explore the application effect of current velocity break protection in high voltage transmission lines. Through the combination of theoretical analysis and practical cases, different types of high voltage transmission lines are modeled. Based on the existing current velocity break protection principle, new algorithms are introduced to optimize traditional protection strategies. The results show that the improved current velocity break protection can identify the fault location more accurately, shorten the time of fault removal, and improve the selectivity and reliability of the protection action. Especially when dealing with multi-point faults in complex power grid structure, this method shows significant advantages. In addition, through the verification of several practical engineering cases, the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed method are proved, which provides a strong guarantee for the safe and stable operation of high-voltage transmission lines, and also lays a foundation for subsequent relevant studies.
