Abstract:This paper mainly discusses the impact of ERP system on the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. Firstly, the background and purpose of the research are introduced, as well as the research status at home and abroad. Then it summarizes the definition, characteristics and role of small and medium-sized enterprises in economic development, and analyzes the challenges and demands faced by small and medium-sized enterprises. The following is an overview of ERP system, including its definition, basic principles, functions and characteristics, and its application in enterprise management. Then, it focuses on the impact of ERP system on the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, including improving the efficiency of business process and information management ability, optimizing resource utilization and cost control, improving the effect of decision-making and management level, and improving customer service and corporate image. It then discusses the challenges of introducing ERP systems for smes, including technical and human resource challenges, cost and return on investment considerations, and strategies for system implementation and operational management. Finally, the paper puts forward some countermeasures for smes to introduce ERP system, including establishing appropriate team and resources, phased implementation and gradual transition, emphasizing training and change management. The research of this paper has a certain reference value for small and medium-sized enterprises to understand and apply ERP system.
