Abstract
This article aims to explore the reliability issues and corresponding countermeasures of relay protection devices in power systems. Firstly, the definition, characteristics, and core functions of relay protection devices in the power system were outlined, and their important role in ensuring the safe and stable operation of the power system was clarified. Subsequently, the article analyzed in detail the application scope of relay protection devices in power plants, transmission and transformation systems, and distribution systems, further highlighting their importance. This article explores in depth the reliability issues of current power system relay protection devices, such as insufficient consideration of equipment differences, equipment aging and technological lag, and lack of effective monitoring methods. These issues not only affect the performance of relay protection devices, but also pose a potential threat to the overall safety of the power system. To address these challenges, this article proposes technical measures to improve the reliability of relay protection devices, including personalized equipment changes, the introduction of advanced relay protection devices, and the establishment of a comprehensive monitoring system. These measures aim to enhance the adaptability and accuracy of relay protection devices, providing strong guarantees for the safe and stable operation of the power system. The research results of this article have important guiding significance for improving the reliability of relay protection devices in power systems.
