Abstract
In the field of mechanical design and manufacturing, the application of environmentally friendly materials is gradually becoming an important force to promote the green transformation and sustainable development of the industry. With the increasingly severe global environmental problems, the use of environmentally friendly materials to replace traditional high-polluting materials has become a key way to reduce the environmental impact of the whole life cycle of mechanical products and improve the efficiency of resource utilization. This paper comprehensively discusses the application status, advantages, challenges and future development trend of environmental protection materials in mechanical design and manufacturing, aiming at providing valuable reference and guidance for mechanical design and manufacturing enterprises. This paper introduces the common types of environmentally friendly materials in mechanical design and manufacturing, including biodegradable materials, recycled materials, nanomaterials and smart materials. These materials show significant advantages in reducing environmental pollution, improving product performance, and extending service life. For example, biodegradable materials can decompose quickly in the natural environment, avoiding long-term pollution of soil and water. Recycled materials realize the recycling of resources by recycling waste and reduce the dependence on natural resources and exploitation. This paper analyzes the specific application cases and results of environmental protection materials in mechanical design and manufacturing. By using environmentally friendly materials, companies can not only significantly reduce energy consumption and emissions in the production process, but also improve the market competitiveness of their products. For example, machine parts made from lightweight, high-strength materials such as carbon fiber can reduce equipment weight, improve operational efficiency, and reduce energy consumption and emissions. At the same time, environmentally friendly materials also have good corrosion resistance and wear resistance, which can extend the service life of mechanical equipment and reduce maintenance costs.
