Abstract
With the acceleration of urbanization, the problem of urban traffic congestion is increasingly serious, which has become one of the bottlenecks restricting the sustainable urban development. In order to relieve the traffic pressure and improve the quality of public transport service, the setting of bus lanes has gradually become an important measure of urban traffic management. By providing independent driving space for buses, the bus lanes aim to improve the speed of bus operation, ease urban traffic congestion, and encourage citizens to adopt green travel modes. This study focuses on the effect evaluation and optimization suggestions of bus lanes. Firstly, the definition, type and characteristics of bus lanes, as well as the principles and basis of setting, laying a theoretical foundation for the subsequent research. Subsequently, the evaluation method and fr amework of the effect of bus lane setting were constructed, the process of data collection and pretreatment was defined, and a comprehensive evaluation index system was established. Through empirical analysis, this study made a comprehensive evaluation of the setting effect of bus lanes, and found that it has remarkable results in improving bus operation speed, alleviating urban traffic congestion and encouraging green travel. The study also points out the problems and deficiencies in the current bus lane setting. In view of these problems, this research puts forward many optimization suggestions on layout optimization, management and operation optimization, facilities and service improvement, and public publicity and education, aiming to further improve the setting effect of bus lanes and promote the sustainable development of urban transportation.Keywords Bus lane; setting effect; green travel
